The Innovative Developments to Enhance Aerospace Education and Research (IDEAS-ER) Program provides seed funds to stimulate education and research projects that expand Puerto Rico’s capabilities in NASA-related sciences at the higher education level.
This program benefits faculty and students in the major public and private university systems in Puerto Rico. It fosters and nurtures emerging education and research initiatives that show potential to achieve competitive levels in the future.

Development of New Technical STEM Courses
Development of Instructional Technology, Technology Transfer and Other Technological Courses that use Emerging NASA-developed Technology
Development of STEM Special Education Courses and Educational Tools
Early Interventions to Enhance STEM Student Retention
Initiating Research Opportunities for New Faculty or Faculty with New Ideas with Potential for NASA Competitive Funding
Development of Faculty Partnerships with NASA
Research Collaborations Between Faculty from 4-year Colleges and Research Universities
